The Ranch

There is always something interesting going on here on the Ranch.

On New Year’s Eve we had a pack of wolf hybrid cubs born.  These four cuddly cubs have
all found homes now but they sure were cute!

Atilla is our male wolf. He is the proud father of these handsome cubs. We breed our wolves and siberian huskies 2 to 3 times a year.  We find the wolves to be exceptionally loving and extremely intelligent animals. Of course, you have you give them a lot of love and attention if you want this response.  We try to place the cubs as soon as they can be weaned - 3 to 4 weeks of age - so they will bond with their new owner and think of them as their “pack”. Atilla still thinks the headboard of our bed is his “den” and we are his pack!

Not only do we raise wolves, but we also breed Siberian Huskies.

SPRINGTIME MEANS BABIES ON THE RANCH!

Recently as I was taking a couple of visitors down the hill to visit with some of the animals, I noticed one of the nanny goats was in labor.  Unfortunately it was a difficult one but she was a very lucky goat. One of our guests who was arriving about the same time was an expert OB. While he had never tried his hand at delivering goats before, he was successful in delivering the baby kid. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. I was certainly relieved and all of our guest had an exciting introduction to the Ranch.

Our llama stays busy guarding our goats and baby calves from predators.

Our buffalo herd not only offers entertaining viewing but excellent meat as well.
